LEWISBURG, Pa. - Tim Brandau (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh), a freshman attackman on the Bucknell men's lacrosse team, has been named the Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week following his heroics in an 11-10 overtime victory over Hobart on Saturday at St. Paul's School outside Baltimore.
Brandau tallied the game-winning goal with 1:16 remaining in sudden-death overtime, capping a two-goal, two-assist afternoon. Earlier, Bucknell rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the second quarter, then neither team led by more than one goal for the final 44 minutes of the game.
Bucknell is off to a 2-0 start heading into Saturday's game at Ohio State. In those two games Brandau has four goals and two assists. His six points rank second on the team to another freshman attackman, Austin Winter, who has seven points.
Bucknell's game Saturday in Columbus, Ohio is scheduled to begin at noon.
