Penn State Drops Bucknell Men's Tennis 7-0

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - On Thursday, the Bucknell men's tennis squad dropped its third straight match to Penn State, 7-0, in University Park, Pa. The sophomore pair of Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) and Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) picked up the Bison's lone victory against Bradley Hunter and Guillaume St-Maurice, 8-7, in No. 2 doubles. Bucknell falls to 3-4 on the season, while Penn State improves to 8-1 (1-1 Big Ten).
The Lions collected the first point of the night after winning two out of three doubles matches. Brenner lost to Hunter, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 3 singles, while Sandburg was defeated by Ryan Berger, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 2 singles. St-Maurice took down freshman Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick), 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 4 singles to put Penn State up 4-0, while also clinching the match for the Lions.
The Bucknell men's tennis team will battle Stony Brook on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the West Branch Tennis Club in Williamsport, Pa. The match is slated to start at 1 p.m.
