Bucknell Men's Tennis Loses 6-1, to Stony Brook

LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Saturday, the Bucknell men's tennis team fell to Stony Brook, 6-1, in Williamsport, Pa., at the West Branch Tennis Club. The Bison dropped its fourth straight match, falling to 3-5 on the season.
Bucknell started the match out strong picking up the first point of the afternoon, winning two out of three doubles matches. The team of junior Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper School) and freshman Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) defeated Nihal Advani and Quirjin Van Veen, 8-5, in the No. 1 spot, while the sophomore duo of Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) and Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) dropped Youssef Fassi-Fehri and Alex Markovich, 8-5, in the No. 2 spot.
However, Stony Brook would bounce back and take all six of the singles matches. Van Veen redeemed himself against Reibeisen in the No. 1 spot, 7-5, 6-2, while Sandburg fell to Advani, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 2 spot. Brenner was defeated by Fassi-Fehri, 6-2, 6-2 in No. 3 singles, while Ilan Shvartz defeated Hascoe to clinch the match, 6-3, 6-0, in the No. 4 spot.
The Bucknell men's tennis squad will face Marist on Saturday, Mar. 3, in Williamsport, Pa., at the West Branch Country Club.
