SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- Emily Chiodo (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) shot 81-79 on Monday to lead the Bucknell women's golf team on day one of the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines. Battling chilly temperatures and stiff breezes, the Bison posted rounds of 326 and 325 and sit in 13th place in a strong 15-team field with 18 holes still to come on Tuesday.
Freshman Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) carded the team's low score in the morning round with an 80. She then came back with an 82 in the afternoon. Kristen Phalen (Duxbury, Mass./Tabor Academy) shot 83-81, Amy Loughney (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) shot 82-86 and Kathryn Batchelor (Lawrenceville, N.J./Princeton Country Day) had 91-83.
With rounds of 308 and 305, host Rollins College took the team lead by four shots over Augusta State. Cincinnati (618) is in third, five back, followed by Nova Southeastern (629), James Madison (637), William & Mary (638), Yale (639), Elon (643), Western Michigan (645), Marshall (645), Illinois State (646), Methodist (647), Bucknell (651), Xavier (653) and Richmond (657).
Emilie Guery has the individual lead after shooting 74-73. Lindsay Hong of Yale is one back.
