LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's basketball game Saturday against Navy at Sojka Pavilion will be broadcast live in the Lewisburg area on WVBU 90.5 and over the internet through www.BucknellBison.com. All 14 of the Bison's regular season Patriot League games will be broadcast on WVBU, with Saturday's contest kicking off the slate. Coverage will begin at 3:45 p.m. with tip off scheduled for 4 p.m.
Fans wishing to listen to the Bison Sports Network broadcast via the internet can follow the link on the right-hand side of the www.BucknellBison.com front page, or log on directly to www.SportsJuice.com.
Doug Birdsong, who is in his seventh year as the "Voice of the Bison", will share the play-by-play duties with Trevor Rutledge-Leverenz. Birdsong will handle play-by-play for games that are played as part of a doubleheader with the Bison men's basketball team, including Saturday's tilt with the Mids. Rutledge-Leverenz, a 2001 Bucknell graduate who currently works at Sirius Satellite Radio in New York City, will handle play-by-play responsibilities when the women's basketball team plays at a different site than the men. Ryan Unger, a member of the 1380 WMLP and 1070 WKOK high school sports broadcast teams, will handle color commentary for a number of the games.
In addition to the radio broadcast, a new feature this season will be broadband video broadcasts available through the Patriot League's All-Access subscription package. The package is available for $6.95 a month, which allows a subscriber to watch any Patriot League games that are part of the package.
The Bison men's basketball games, which will also be featured as part of the Patriot League All-Access package, will continue to air live on Eagle 107 (WEGH 107.3) as well as SportsJuice.com. Saturday's contest is slated for 7 p.m. with Birdsong calling the action along with Doug Byerly.
Bucknell's women's squad enters Saturday's game against Navy with an 8-7 record. The Bison are one of just two teams in the Patriot League with non-conference records of better than .500.
