LEWISBURG, Pa - For the second straight week, senior Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) of the Bucknell women's indoor track and field team was honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the Female Field Athlete of the Week.
Additionally, Grap also copped Female Performer of the Week honors from the Patriot League for the second consecutive week and the third time this season. In the Bucknell Heptagonal, the Van Etten, N.Y., native won her third 20-lb weight throw of the season with a distance of 62 feet, 7 ¾ inches (18.63m), which won her the competition. Her length was also a NCAA provisional and ECAC Championship mark. The senior took third in the shot put after launching a distance of 43-1 (13.13m).
Grap has qualified for two events in the ECAC Championships and has the chance to be a weight throw qualifier for the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., in March.
For her performance so far this season, Grap will take part in the Penn State National Invitational this Friday, Jan. 26, in University Park, Pa. The Bucknell indoor track and field teams will also host the two-day Bison Open and Multi on Friday, starting at 4:30 p.m.
