Bison Field Hockey Falls To Georgetown 4-3

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bucknell field hockey team dropped its third straight game, falling to Georgetown Saturday afternoon after giving up a two-goal lead in the second half. The Bison fell to 4-4 while Georgetown improved to 3-5.
Sophomore Trina Boyer (Macungie, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) put Bucknell on the scoreboard when she scored her second goal of the season, which was assisted by sophomore Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) to tie the game up at 1-1. In the 26th minute, senior Katie Urosevich (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) collected the Bison's second goal of the game when she made a diving shot that went past the Hoya goalkeeper. With two minutes left in the first half, Faust would notch her second assist of the game when senior Alex Kyzmir (Lisle, N.Y./Whitney Point) recorded her second goal of the season to put the Orange and Blue up 3-1.
Georgetown opened the second half with a goal by Maggie Farrand in the 40th minute. The Hoyas would tie the game up at 3-3 when Willemijn Wijsman scored off a save from the Bison goalkeeper in the 54th minute. With a little over six minutes to play in the match, Georgetown's Lindsey Moramarco scored to put the Hoyas up 4-3.
In her first career start, freshman Diana Bartley (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) recorded four saves while Georgetown's Deirdre Crove collected three saves. The Bison were outshot 10-7, but held a 6-5 advantage in penalty corners.
Bucknell will host its first Patriot League match of the season when it faces Lehigh on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Graham Field in Lewisburg, Pa. The game will start at 1 p.m.
