Bucknell, Pellicani End Up Second at Monmouth Men's Golf Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Ben Pellicani (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) shot 76 on Monday in the final round of Monmouth's Hawk Invitational, leading the Bison to a second-place finish. Pellicani, who began the day with a one-stroke lead in the individual standings, was edged out for medalist honors by Matt Gowdy of team champ Saint Francis (Pa.).
Patrick Yingling (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) shot his second straight 79 and Chas Wagner (Oakmont, Pa./Hampton) shot 83, and both finished in a tie for 14th place. Also for Bucknell, Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield) shot 78 and Brian Poe (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) finished with a 79.
Bucknell shot 312 as a team on Monday and 620 over 36 holes. The Red Flash were three strokes better both days and finished at 614. Rounding out the 10-team field were Quinnipiac (621), Monmouth (630), Sacred Heart (633), Lafayette (643), Fairleigh Dickinson (652), Wagner (653), Mount St. Mary's (654) and St. Peter's (679).
The Bison will be back in action this weekend at the Lafayette Invitational.
