Bucknell Men's Golf Ties for Seventh at IUP Invitational

INDIANA, Pa. -- Bucknell shot 304 and tied for seventh place at the Cecil Spadafora/IUP Invitational, an 18-hole tournament contested Wednesday at Indiana Country Club.
Senior Ben Pellicani (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and sophomore Rahul Desai (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford School) led a young Bison contingent with matching 4-over-par 75s, good for a tie for 15th. Also for Bucknell, freshman Brian Poe (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) shot 76, junior Patrick Yingling (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) shot 78 and sophomore Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield) finished with an 83.
Clarion won the event with a 294, two shots better than host IUP. Saint Vincent (298), Saint Francis (299), Allegheny (301) and Millersville (302) also finished ahead of the Bison in a 15-team field.
Steve Foisy of Saint Francis and Drew Denton of Allegheny both shot 71, with Foisy taking medalist honors on the first playoff hole.
Bucknell will travel to Annapolis, Md., this weekend for the Navy Spring Invitational, which is an important tuneup for the Patriot League Championship a week later on the same golf course.
