Bucknell Indoor Track and Field Honored by Patriot League

LEWISBURG, Pa - On Tuesday, the Patriot League announced that Bucknell senior Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) and freshmen Kalle James-Wintjen (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) and Kyle Anthony (Barryville, N.Y./Eldred Central) earned weekly track and field honors for their performances this past weekend in the Bison Opener inside Gerhard Fieldhouse.
Grap, who was named Field Athlete of the Week, qualified for the ECAC Championships in the weight throw with a distance of 61 feet, 5 ½ inches (18.75m), which was good for first place. She also finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 43-8 (13.32m). The senior currently holds the school's weight throw record of 64-9 ¼ (19.74m), which is also a Gerhard Fieldhouse record.
James-Wintjen was honored as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for her effort in the 60-meter dash, when she crossed the line in ninth place with a time of 8.00 seconds. Her time ranks second all-time in school history. The freshman also posted a fifth-place finish in the 300 with a time of 41.99.
Anthony was tabbed Rookie of the Week after winning both events and qualifying for the IC4A Championships in both the long and triple jump on Saturday. He jumped a distance of 23-11 ½ (7.30m) in the long jump, while notching a distance of 48-10 ¾ (14.90m) in the triple. He currently sits second and fourth all-time in the triple and long jump, respectively.
The Bucknell indoor track and field teams will next compete in the Gulden Relays on Saturday, Jan. 13, inside the Gerhard Fieldhouse.
