LEWISBURG, Pa. - On the strength of three top-four individual finishes and one team title, Bucknell senior Charlie Waddell (Wilmette, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) has been named the Patriot League golfer of the Month for September. Waddell, the two-time defending Patriot League champion, captured the golfer of the month honor for the first time in his career.
After a terrific spring season, Waddell picked right up where he left off, posting a second-place finish and leading Bucknell to the team title at the Colgate Invitational in the very first event of the year. A week later he tied for second at the Bucknell Invitational, shooting 67-69 over the final two rounds. Waddell also placed 21st at the Keenan Invitational at St. Bonaventure and fourth at last week's Cornell Invitational.
In 10 rounds this fall, Waddell has three sub-par rounds and a scoring average of 72.4.
Bucknell, which is 9-0 against Patriot League competition this fall, travels to West Point, N.Y., for the Army Mulekicker Classic this Saturday and Sunday.
