Bucknell Women's Swimming and Diving Posts 141-102 Victory Over Delaware

LEWISBURG, Pa. - One week after breaking into the Bison top-10 all-time in the 1650 free, sophomore Brittany Neligan (Hempstead, N.Y.) set a new top-10 mark in the 1000 free as she helped the Bucknell women's swimming and diving team to a 141-102 victory over Delaware on Friday evening in Kinney Natatorium.
Neligan took first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:33.58, good for the eighth-best time in program history as she posted one of Bucknell's eight individual wins in the meet. She also turned in a runner-up showing in the 500 free with a time of 5:12.43.
Senior Lectie Altman (Syracuse, N.Y./William Nottingham) and junior Rebecca Scheffter (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) were both double-winners for the Bison as Altman captured the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.00 and in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.74. Scheffter took first in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 24.56 and 53.32, respectively.
Junior Laura Goeller (Wilmington, Del./Tower Hill School), classmate Katherine Munson (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) and sophomore Lauren Thomas (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) were all individual winners for the Orange and Blue as well. Goeller finished first in the 400 IM with a team season-best time of 4:35.03, Munson won the 200 fly in 2:06.91 and Thomas placed first in the three-meter dive with a score of 212.85.
Junior Nikki Woodward (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) collected two runner-up showings in the 400 IM (4:38.52) and the 200 fly (2:11.34) while also finishing third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:28.55. Senior Mary Krakowski (Erie, Pa./McDowell) took second in the 50 free with a time of 24.81 to round out the top individual performances for Bucknell.
The 800 free relay squad of sophomore Lauren Butrie (Orefield, Pa./Parkland), Munson, junior Carlyn Donley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) and freshman Ally St. Claire (Sliver Spring, Md.) set a new program top-10 mark in the event, finishing second with a time of 7:52.68, the 10th-best time in program history.
The Bison will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 4, when the team will travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to take on Patriot League foe Lehigh beginning at 11 a.m.
