Bucknell Men's and Women's Diving Teams Close Out Weekend at Black Knight Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Bucknell men's and women's diving teams closed out the two-day Black Knight Diving Invitational on Sunday against host Army, Lehigh, Stony Brook and Western Connecticut State with no team scores.
Sophomore Lauren Thomas (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) was the top finisher for Bucknell on the women's side as she placed fourth in the one-meter final with a mark of 207.10. She qualified for the final with a score of 194.25 in the preliminaries to take fifth out of 13 divers. Senior Victoria Fritz (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway West) and junior Erica Minerowicz (Califon, N.Y./West Morris Central) advanced to the final with marks of 187.07 and 170.75 to take sixth and seventh in the preliminaries. The pair once again took sixth and seventh in the final round, posting marks of 198.45 and 188.95.
Senior Adam Freeman (Barrington, Ill./Barrington), who won the men's one-meter event on Saturday, took second in Sunday's three-meter final with a mark of 279.85 after advancing out of the preliminaries with a score of 257.20, good for second out of 15 divers.
Senior Jake Thompson (Freeport, N.Y./Chaminade) and freshman Jeffrey Manning (Bringhurst, Ind./ Carroll Junior/Senior High also represented the Bison in the final. Thompson posted a mark of 208.85 to finish eighth in the preliminaries and went on to capture fourth in the final with a score of 255.40. Manning was seventh in the preliminaries with a mark of 217.80 and took eighth in the final, recording a mark of 204.70.
Senior Joseph Duncan (Golden, Colo./Golden Senior High) and freshman Gregory Zavoluk (Stamford, Conn.) finished 10th and 15th in the preliminaries with scores of 194.75 and 138.20, respectively.
The entire Bucknell men's and womens' swimming and diving teams will return to action on Tuesday, January 17, when the squads will travel to Hamilton, N.Y., to take on Patriot League foe Colgate at 12:00 p.m.
