Bucknell Men's and Women's Diving Teams Compete on Day One of the Black Knight Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Bucknell men's and women's diving teams competed on day one of the Black Knight Diving Invitational on Saturday against host Army, Lehigh, Colgate and Stony Brook with no team scores.
For the men, senior Adam Freeman (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) took first in the one-meter dive with a score of 264.80 in the finals after finishing third out of 18 divers in the preliminaries with a score of 253.70. Senior Jake Thompson (Freeport, N.Y./Chaminade) also represented Bucknell in the finals and finished sixth with a mark of 224.15 after posting a score of 228.70 for seventh in the preliminaries.
Freshman Jeffrey Manning (Bringhurst, Ind./ Carroll Junior/Senior High) took ninth in the one-meter preliminaries with a score of 214.05, while classmate Gregory Zavoluk (Stamford, Conn.) and senior Joseph Duncan (Golden, Colo./Golden Senior High) placed 13th and 14th with marks of 179.65 and 179.05, respectively, to round out the men's participants for the Bison.
On the women's side, all three Bucknell divers advanced out of the preliminaries in the three-meter as senior Victoria Fritz (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway West) was sixth out of 14 competitors with a score of 195.55, sophomore Lauren Thomas (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) followed in seventh with a score of 180.85 and junior Erica Minerowicz (Califon, N.Y./West Morris Central) took eighth with a score of 178.20. The trio went on to repeat as sixth, seventh and eighth in the finals with marks of 200.65, 161.50 and 158.65, respectively.
Bucknell will compete on day two of the Black Knight Diving Invitational, Sunday, January 15, beginning at 12 p.m.
