Bucknell's Grap Named Patriot League's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior thrower Marjorie Grap (Van Etten/Spencer-Van Etten), of Bucknell's women's indoor track and field team, received the Patriot League's Indoor Female Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 1-8, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.
Grap won both the shot put and the weight throw on Saturday at the Gulden Relays, with tosses of 42 feet, 5 1/4 inches and 57-10 1/2, respectively. She also received the honor of being named the meet's female Field Athlete of the Meet, for the second consecutive year.
Earlier this season, Grap shattered her own school record in the weight throw of 57-6 1/4, with a heave of 58-9 1/4 and qualified for the ECAC Indoor Championships, which will be held at the end of the indoor season.
The Bison will return to action at the Black Squirrel Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14, in Kent, Ohio, before returning home to host the Bucknell Heptagonal on Jan. 21.
