Bison Track and Field Concludes Season at NCAA East Regional Championships

RANDALL'S ISLAND, N.Y. - The Bucknell women's track and field squad concluded their season on Saturday, as three athletes competed in individual events at the NCAA East Regional Championships in Randall's Island, N.Y.
Freshman Beverly Rogers finished in 20th place in the javelin competition with a mark of 139-9 (42.60m). Virginia's Inge Jorgensen took first-place honors, throwing 167-11 (51.19m).
Rogers had an commendable outdoor campaign in just her first season of collegiate competition. The freshman set the school record on two occasions, finally setting the mark at 148-7. She was also named the Patriot League Rookie of the Meet at the conference championships following her silver-medal performance.
Sophomore Ann Doty finished 32nd in the triple jump field, leaping a mark of 38-0 1/4 (11.59m). Gisele Oliveira of Clemson took the regional title with a jump of 44-11 3/4 (13.71m). Doty recently won her fourth Patriot League triple jump title, extending her impressive streak to four wins in just four tries.
Sophomore Marjorie Grap competed in the discus, but failed to throw a legal mark. Grap had a banner year for the Bison, earning two indoor and two outdoor Patriot League titles. The sophomore was also awarded Field Athlete of the Meet honors, after her pair of gold-medal performances at the PL Outdoor Championships.
