KENT, Ohio - The Bucknell men's and women's track teams competed at the Doug Raymond Invitational, Saturday in Kent, Ohio. Sophomore Christa Sawko, junior Kayla Halloran and senior Dan Lounsbury each came away with an event-winning performance. The Bison women took fifth in the talented competition while the men finished in sixth place.
Sawko won the 800-meters in a blazing 2:09.52, less than half a second off the school record. The Bison women were particularly strong in the 800 with three athletes in the top 10 places. Amy Calvo claimed fifth place in the event (2:14.22), just ahead of Lauren Bricker in seventh (2:15.31).
Halloran took top honors in the 5,000-meters clocking a time of 17:52.01. Teammate Leanna Nastase grabbed the runner-up spot in the event with a time of 17:59.92. In the pole vault, Melanie Buczko added a second-place finish to the Bison team score clearing a height of 12-5 ½.
Marjorie Grap continued to tear through the Bison record books breaking the school record in the 20-pound weight throw for the second time this season. Grap's toss of 57-6 ¼ bested her previous record of 56-1 ¾, and was enough for fourth place in a competitive field.
The distance medley relay team of Jen Marsh, Rehana Lanewala, Laura Nagy and Sawko notched a third place finish in 12:31.50. Also in the relays, the squad of Kat Allen, Monique Boley, Bricker and Calvo earned a fourth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:52.29, a season-best time.
Lounsbury, the lone event-winner on the men's side, ran to victory in the 5,000 in 14:55.35. Teammates Matt Forys and Stephen Schaefer followed in fourth and fifth places with times of 15:24.81 and 15:35.90, respectively.

Thomas Bennett placed fourth in the event with a mark of 42-3 ¼. The team of Wallace Campbell, Faizal Asumda, Matt Bonelli and Derrin Pierret took third in the DMR in 10:35.80.
