BISON WOMEN WIN FOURTH-CONSECUTIVE PATRIOT LEAGUE INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP!

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lauren Bricker, Ann Doty, Marjorie Grap and Christa Sawko all gave gold medal performances to help the Bison track and field team to their fourth-consecutive Patriot League title Sunday in Bethlehem, Pa. The title is not only the fourth in-a-row for the Bison women, it is also the seventh indoor championship in the last eight years. The Bison earned four gold, four silver and seven bronze medals on Sunday on their way to a total of 211.50 points, 81.5 ahead of second-place Navy.
Sophomore Marjorie Grap continued her banner year for the Bison winning the shot put with a heave of 44-3 ¼. The title is Grap's second of the championships after besting the field in the 20-pound weight throw on Saturday.
Sophomore Ann Doty earned her second-consecutive title in the triple jump with a season best leap of 38-2 ¾. Teammate Lauren Bricker followed in third place with a jump of 37-5. Bricker also grabbed a gold medal of her own winning the 800-meters in 2:15.45, continuing the Bison 800 dynasty with Bucknell's eighth-consecutive gold medal in the event. Amy Calvo nabbed the bronze in the event running a time of 2:17.88.

Calvo finished second in the 400-meter dash in 59.08, falling just short of her third-consecutive PL win in the event. Kat Allen contributed a fourth place finish in the 400 running 59.79. Also in the sprints, Rehana Lanewala added a third place finish in the 200-meters in 25.85. In the 60-meter dash, Tolu Fayanjuola made her third medal-winning performance of the championships, taking third in a season-best time of 7.82. Melanie Buczko was Bucknell's lone scorer in the 60-meter hurdles finishing second with a time of 8.95.
The Bison were traditionally strong in the middle distance events with Christa Sawko securing a win in the 1,000-meters in 2:55.20. Jen Marsh, the Bucknell record-holder in the event, finished in fourth place in 2:58.25. Freshman Erin Cranmer-Hart recorded a scoring finish by placing sixth in 3:04.01. Senior Monique Boley notched a silver medal in the 500-meters in 1:17.09. Freshman Offeibia Hanson-Hall made her first career scoring performance taking fifth in the 800 in 2:19.48.

In the distance events, Kayla Halloran followed up Saturday's 5,000-meter gold with a second place finish in the 3,000-meters in 10:13.48. Marsh and Cranmer-Hart went three-four in the mile run with times of 5:07.27 and 5:12.10, respectively. Sophomore Angie Hall and freshman Ashley Curry cleared a height of 11-3 ¾ in the pole vault with Hall taking third place and Curry tying for fifth. Amanda Mockbee also added a point to the Bison total finishing sixth in the shot (38-8 ¼).
Bison head coach Kevin Donner was named the Women's Indoor Coach of the Year for the fourth-consecutive year.
The Bison will be off until the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on the weekend of March 5-6, in Boston, Mass. Bison athletes who have met the qualifying standards will be eligible to compete at the championships.
