LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) and senior Jennifer Marsh (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) have been named the Patriot League Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week after their first place performances at last weekend's Bucknell Winter Classic. Grap received the "Field Athlete of the Week" nod for her winning performances in both the shot put and the 20-pound weight throw while Marsh was named the "Track Athlete of the Week " for her school-recording setting showing in the 1,000-meter run.
Grap, the only Bison to win two events on the weekend, won the shot put at the Winter Classic with a personal-best heave of 45-2 ½ for her third PL honor of the season. Grap's toss is also the best mark in the PL as well as an ECAC qualifying mark. In the weight, Grap posted a gold-medal winning mark of 56-9 ½ to stay undefeated in home competitions this season. Grap, the PL leader in the weight, went a perfect 5-0 in the weight while competing in Gerhard Fieldhouse this winter.

Marsh earned her first career PL nod for her record-breaking run in the 1000. Marsh clocked a time of 2:54.21 to win the event and shatter the Bison record of 2:54.35 set in 1998. Marsh's PL-leading time also guarantees her a slot at the ECAC Championships. Marsh is currently ranked seventh in the PL in the 800-meters and eighth in the mile run.
Grap, Marsh, and the rest of the three-time defending PL champion Bison women's track and field squad enter the championship portion of the indoor season this weekend with the Patriot League Championships hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa. The meet begins on Feb. 18 at 12 p.m. and concludes on Sunday, Feb. 20.
