LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman forward Lauren Schober (Chicago, Ill./Regina Dominican) was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week Monday for her performance in the Bison's 93-92 triple-overtime victory over Maryland Eastern Shore last weekend.
Schober netted 15 points and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds in the contest as she fell one point shy of her career high in scoring. The 6-0 forward scored nine of her points in overtime as she played a career-high 37 minutes in the contest. Schober made 5 of 11 field goals and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
Schober, who leads the Patriot League in 3-point shooting percentage (.526), is fifth on the team in scoring with 8.8 points per game, but is averaging 10.8 over the last four games. She is third on the squad in rebounding with 4.3 per contest.
Schober became the second Bucknell player in three weeks to cop honors as PL Rookie of the Week. Classmate Corrine Keller (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) nabbed accolades two weeks ago.
Bucknell played just the game against UMES last week. The contest, which evened Bucknell's record at 4-4, was the first triple overtime game in the 33-year history of the Bison program.
