Bucknell Women's Swimming and Diving Sits in Second After Day One of Bucknell Trials/Finals Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Lectie Altman (Syracuse, N.Y./William Nottingham) and junior Laura Goeller (Wilmington, Del./Tower Hill School) both picked up individual wins as the Bucknell women's swimming and diving team finished day one of the Bucknell Damon's Trials/Finals Invitational in second place with 509 points. James Madison currently leads the four-team, two-day meet with 674 points while Old Dominion is third with 336 and Binghamton is fourth with 213.
Altman captured first in the 100 back with a time of 57.18, finished second in the 200 free in 1:54.55 and helped the 400 medley relay team to a second place finish. In the 400 medley relay, Altman, junior Nikki Woodward (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow), senior Mary Krakowski (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and junior Rebecca Scheffter (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) finished with a time of 3:58.19, good for the ninth-best mark in program history.
Goeller won the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.98, while Woodward was the runner up in the 100 breast with a personal best time of 1:07.95 to tie for seventh in the Bucknell record books.
Junior Katherine Munson (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) and sophomore Lauren Thomas (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) rounded out the top finishers for the Bison on day one. Munson came in third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.40 and Thomas took third in the one-meter dive with a mark of 191.70.
The Orange and Blue also finished second in the 200 free relay as the team of freshman Susan Horstmann (Havertown, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara), Krakowski, senior Lauren Reed (South Plainfield, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy), and Scheffter finished with a time of 1:39.60.
Bucknell will continue to compete in the Bucknell Damon's Trials/Finals Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 20, with the trials beginning at 10 a.m. and the finals at 5 p.m. in Kinney Natatorium.
