Bucknell Basketball Single-Game Tickets to Go on Sale October 31

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Single-game tickets for Bucknell men's and women's basketball games will go on sale to the general public starting Monday, Oct. 31. Single-game tickets can be purchased for all men's and women's basketball home games at Sojka Pavilion. Fans can purchase individual game tickets at the Bucknell Campus Box Office located at the Weis Center (11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays) and the Elaine Langone Center (11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays), or via the web at www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice/, or by calling 570-577-1000.
The defending Patriot League champion Bison men's basketball program opens the 2005-06 season with a November 5 exhibition contest against Lock Haven at 7 p.m. in Sojka Pavilion. This exhibition contest will be a non-ticketed, free event open to the community.
The Bucknell Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will join forces with the Bison Basketball program and the Union County Chapter of the Red Cross, to collect financial donations on this night for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need. The Bison open the 2005-06 regular season at Rider on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. before returning to Sojka Pavilion for the home opener on Saturday, Nov. 26 against Yale at 7 p.m.
The Bucknell women's basketball team will be challenged early as it opens the season away from home for the fourth consecutive year, traveling to Stony Brook on Nov. 18 for the first of two meetings between the teams. Two days later the Bison will battle Iona on the road as well. The home opener for the women's basketball team will be against 2005 NCAA Tournament participant and 20-game winner Coppin State on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m.
The Bison men's squad was picked to repeat as Patriot League champion this season, while the women's team was picked fourth in a preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors.
