Bucknell Men's Golf Starts Well at Keenan Invitational, In Sixth After First Round

OLEAN, N.Y. - It was a consistent afternoon for the Bucknell men's golf team, who counted three 74s and a 75 and stand in a tie for sixth place after the first of two rounds of the Leo Keenan Invitational, hosted by St. Bonaventure at Bartlett Country Club.
Charlie Waddell (Wilmette, Ill./Lake Forest Academy), Keita Aoki (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International School) and Kyle Moran (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School) all shot 4-over par 74 on Sunday, while Chas Wagner (Oakmont, Pa./Hampton) produced a 75. Tom Lane (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) was a shot back with 76. The trio at 4-over all sit in a tie for 23rd place, five shots out of a four-way tie for the individual lead.
Host St. Bonaventure set a school and tournament record with an opening-round 282, which is just 2-over par. Drexel lurks seven shots back at 289, followed by Niagara (295), Youngstown State (295), Cornell (295), Bucknell (297) and Binghamton (297). Ten of the 15 teams in the field broke the 300 barrier in excellent weather conditions on Sunday.
Drexel's Keith Snyder, Long Island's Patrick Kelly, Binghamton's Aaron Ungvarsky and St. Bonaventure's Brennan Payne all shot 1-under 69s in the opening round. Patrick Hardin of Drexel is one shot back, while 30 competitors are within five shots of the lead heading into Monday's final round.
