Bucknell Women's Golf in 9th at Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Freshman Deirdre Moran shot 77 to lead Bucknell in the first round of the Yale Invitational women's golf tournament on Saturday. The Bison compiled a 336 team score and sit in ninth place with 18 holes left to play.
Teri Schlang shot 83 for the Bison, while Emily Chiodo followed with 87, Amy Loughney 89 and Laura Ashpole 91. Moran is tied for 12th place individually.
Playing as an individual, Kathryn Batchelor had a solid round, finishing in 82, fourth-best among the unattached players.
Rollins College shot a 10-over par 290 on Saturday and grabbed a 17-stroke lead over second-place Columbia. Host Yale is in third at 311, followed by St. John's (313), Georgetown (317), Dartmouth (322), Harvard (324), Brown (326), Bucknell (336) and Penn (338).
Charlotte Campbell of Rollins took the individual lead with a 1-under 69, two shots better than teammate Marie-Pierre Bernier.
Round two is scheduled for Sunday morning.
