Bucknell Men's Golf Finishes Third at Cornell Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. - Charlie Waddell shot 74 on Sunday and finished the 54-hole Cornell Invitational at 1-under par, leading Bucknell to a strong third-place finish at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. Waddell carded rounds of 71-70-74 and was one of only two players in the 16-team field to finish beneath par.
Bucknell as a team shot 298 on Sunday, making them one of only three teams in the field to score below 300 in all three rounds. Rider coasted to a seven-shot win over Penn with rounds of 292-289-298 for a 54-hole composite of 879. The Quakers were second at 886, followed by Bucknell (890), Cornell (896) and Niagara (901).
Ben Pellicani's 73 was Bucknell's best score of the final round. Pellicani finished in a tie for 19th place with rounds of 75-77-73. Tom Lane also finished in the top 20, posting scores of 72-76-74 to place T-12th.
Alex Dolle finished 33rd at 75-77-77, while freshman Keita Aoki, playing in his first collegiate tournament, tied for 49th with 78-76-80.
Josh Krumholz of Rider finished at 8-under for the tournament, garnering medalist honors with rounds of 67-68-73. Waddell was two strokes clear of Cornell's Robert Fritz for second place.
The Bison, who now have first and third-place finishes in two tournaments this fall, will next play at the William & Mary Invitational on Oct. 4-5.
