NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Bison competitors entered just two competitions on Sunday at the ECAC/IC4A Championships in New Haven, Conn., both on the women's side, as the 4x800 relay team posted the second-best finish in school history and Ann Doty finished 10th in the triple jump competition
Bucknell's 4x800 relay squad of Jennifer Marsh, Laura Nagy, Lauren Bricker and Christa Sawko finished fifth, securing the last four Bison points by finishing the race in 8:58.11. Bucknell's 22 points put the team 15th in overall scoring to end the championships.
Ann Doty's triple jump measured 38'2" as the freshman finished two spots out of the scoring. No men's competitors on Sunday were Bison, leaving Noel Powell's fourth-place long jump on Saturday, worth five points, as Bucknell's only take. That put the Bucknell men in a nine-way tie for 37th in team points.
A handful of Bucknell athletes who have met qualifying standards through the outdoor season and were Patriot League champions in their events will compete at the NCAA Regional meet in two weeks in Gainesville, Fla.
