Bucknell Men's Tennis Wraps Up Competition at Bloomsburg Invitational

Bloomsburg, Pa. - The Bison men's tennis squad completed competition at the Bloomsburg Invitational this afternoon, a two-day event that involved teams from Binghamton, Bloomsburg, and Villanova competing in a non-team scoring format against the other schools in singles and doubles. Yesterday, the Bison played Binghamton and Bloomsburg in singles, and Villanova and Binghamton in doubles.
Asher Salam won his first match of the weekend today against Aaron Kusza of Villanova, 7-6(5), 1-6, (10-6), and Joe Menezes continued his perfect singles streak by beating Ricardo Baraldi, 6-0, 6-4. Menezes picked up two wins yesterday against athletes from Binghamton and Bloomsburg. Don Whaley won for the second time this weekend against the Wildcats, beating Jon Perachio today, 2-6, 7-6(5), (11-9). Whaley beat Villanova's Sean Gallagher yesterday in an exhibition. In another exhibition match, Wes Madara beat Carl Fenzi, 6-4, 1-6, (10-8). Madara also won the only match he played yesterday, against Bloomsburg.
The Bison will return to action in two weeks at the ECAC Championships in Mercer County, N.J.
