Bucknell Men's Golf in 22nd at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Bucknell men's golf team struggled in the opening round of the Navy Spring Invitational, compiling a team score of 328 to stand in 22nd place in a 23-team field after Saturday's opening round.
Freshman Tom Lane was the only Bison player to break 80. He shot a nine-over 79 and is in a tie for 72nd place. Abbie Valentine shot 81, Ben Pellicani and Brian Troast each had 84, and Chris Martinez shot 88 to round out the Bucknell scoring.
Johnson & Wales shot a three-over 283 as a team to grab a seven-shot lead over George Washington heading into Sunday's final round at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course. Georgetown (291), Methodist (293) and Penn (293) round out the top five.
Nick Cook of Georgetown fired a two-under 68, but nine players are within two shots of the lead with 18 holes to play.
The final round begins Sunday morning in Annapolis.
