Bucknell Women's Crew Spends Spring Break In Georgia

ELBERTON, GA. - On Saturday, Bucknell's women's crew team competed in the Southern Regional Sprints Regatta in Elberton, Ga. The Bucknell women's crew team finished third out of 18 teams at the regatta.
The women's varsity novice eight placed two boats in the final six after competing against 10 schools. Boat A for the Bison placed first, while Boat B finished in fifth. Julie Engel and Rebecca Newman competed in the women's singles race.
In the varsity four race, 12 boats competed in the heat to try to advance to the finals. Bucknell placed fourth in the finals, after winning the heat. The Bison entered one boat in the varsity eight race and finished third out of six boats, following University of Georgia and Georgia Tech.
The Bison will continue spring competition when they host LaSalle on Saturday, Mar. 22 in Shamokin Dam, Pa.
