Bucknell Men's Tennis Beats Duquesne, 6-1

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team knocked off Duquesne, 6-1, this morning in Pittsburgh. The Bison took two out of three doubles matches as well as five of six singles matches to win the dual.
At number one doubles, Nick Denefrio and Matt Pikus beat Joseph Esposito and Devon Peightal of Duquesne, 8-6, but Duquesne rebounded on court two where Rodrigo Lacayo and Robert Ojeda beat Asher Salam and Gerald DiChiara, 8-5. Bucknell won the doubles point with Don Whaley and Dave Eckelberger's victory over Michael Belmonte and Alex Wright, 8-1
Though Denefrio suffered a loss at number one singles to Peightal, 6-4, 6-2, all five of his teammates won their singles matches to earn Bucknell a total of six points. At number two, DiChiara came from behind to beat Ojeda, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, while Salam beat Lacayo, 6-1, 6-7(4), 6-4 on court three. At number four, Pikus beat Esposito, 6-2, 6-1, and Aaron Saperstein of Bucknell beat Belmonte, 6-1, 6-4 on court five. Eckelberger won the first dual singles match of his career, 6-2, 6-1 on court six over Wright.
The Bison will play the back half of their Pittsburgh trip tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Robert Morris.
