HAMILTON, N.Y. - Bucknell sophomore Scott Visnic scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season 6:36 into overtime to carry the Bison men's soccer team past Colgate in a 1-0 Patriot League victory on Saturday, October 4. The Orange and Blue have won three straight games, and their first two conference contests.
Bucknell dominated the host Raiders statistically, holding a 20-9 advantage in shots and an 11-5 edge in corner kicks. Neither team could find the back of the net in regulation, however, and the two teams headed to overtime.
Just 6:36 into the extra session, senior Mark Mascarenhas played a ball to junior Ori Adrabi, who found Visnic for the game-winner. It is the forward's seventh goal in the last seven games and his third in Patriot League play.
Bison sophomore goalkeeper Adam Edwards remained perfect in conference play, stopping three Colgate shots while allowing no goals. The Raiders keeper, Jon Brunell, made seven saves on BU's 20 shots.
The Orange and Blue, winning at Colgate for just the second time in the 40 year history of the series, improve to 6-4-0 overall and 2-0-0 in Patriot League play. The team steps out of conference action to travel to Pittsburgh for a 7:00 p.m. game against the Panthers on Wednesday, October 8.
Colgate falls to 1-6-3 overall and 0-2-0 in Patriot League action.
