Molly Creamer Named Patriot League Women's Basketball Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Molly Creamer (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) has picked up weekly Patriot League honors for the fourth time this season for the week ending January 19, 2003. It is Creamer's 12th weekly honor of her career.
Creamer led Bucknell to a 1-1 record last week, averaging 29.0 points per game and 6.5 assists per game. The 5-10 guard opened the week with a 35-point effort in a 74-67 loss to Lehigh on opening night of Sojka Pavilion, Bucknell's new arena. Creamer had only 16 points in the contest with just over three minutes to play, but the co-captain scored 19 in a 2:22 span to get the Bison within three after trailing by as many as 20, and break the Patriot League career scoring record in the process. In addition, after converting on her first eight free throw attempts in the game, Creamer set a new Patriot League single-season consecutive free throw's made record with 34.
Against Navy, Creamer tied for the team-high with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field, while leading the Orange and Blue to their first Patriot League victory of the season.
For the season, Creamer is leading the conference with 26.6 ppg and 5.7 apg. She enters Bucknell's game against Army on Friday, January 24, needing just 11 points to become the all-time leading scorer in school history. With 2,102 points to date, Creamer will pass 1989 graduate Jen Walz (2,112) for the top spot.
The Bison are currently 6-9 overall and 1-2 in Patriot League play. Bucknell is in action next against Army on January 24 at 5:30 p.m. The Orange and Blue remain home to host Lafayette two days later on January 26 at 1:00 p.m.
