Bucknell Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 To Lafayette

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's soccer team played host to Patriot League foe Lafayette, Sunday afternoon and fell 2-0. The Bison now hold a 5-4 overall record and are 0-2 in the conference.
The Bison held Lafayette until senior Leopard Emily Mayers made a shot, while teaming up with Briana Rinchiuso, to produce the first goal of the day in the 24th minute of the first half. The Bison entered halftime trailing the Leopards, 1-0. The Bison came back during the second half and did not score, while allowing one more goal from the Lafayette squad during the 69th minute.
Senior goalkeeper Laurie Purse completed the 90 minutes with 11 saves for Bucknell. The Bison out-shot the Leopards, 23 to 15. Senior Tara Utchel grabbed four shots during the afternoon, while Meghann Chipko and Lauren Schwarz marked three a piece.
Bucknell will face Robert Morris next weekend on Sunday, Oct. 6 at noon on West Fields.
