Purse Marks Second Shutout Of The Week

ALBANY, N.Y. - Senior goalkeeper Laurie Purse tallies her second shutout of the week when the Bison clinch a 1-0 victory over Long Island University. Bucknell completed play at the Fourth Annual Governor's Cup Tournament at University at Albany, Sunday afternoon. The Bison won the tournament with a 2-0 record this weekend.
Freshmen midfielder Meaghan Ferris had the only goal of the afternoon. Ferris scored the unassisted goal in the 22nd minute of the game. Purse was in goal for the entire 90 minutes and was faced with only eight shots from Long Island. Purse saved four shots for the Bison, two of them being crucial saves.
Bucknell finish the weekend with a 5-1 overall record. The Orange and Blue return to action Tuesday, Sept. 17 when they travel to St. Joseph's in Philadelphia, Pa.
