Bucknell Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season at Towson Invitational

TOWSON, Md. - The Bucknell men's tennis team opened the 2002 fall season with competition at the Towson Invitational on Friday, September 13. The Bison played two matches in a one doubles-four singles format, dropping the first, 4-1, to Georgetown and coming out victorious against Loyola, 4-1.
Sophomore Nick Denefrio was Bucknell's lone dual winner on the day, defeating his Georgetown opponent, Eric Conrad, in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-3) at the second seed. He came out to beat Loyola's Dan Schiemel, 6-1, 6-2, in his second match of the day.
Against the Greyhounds, the doubles tandem of senior Todd Jacobs and sophomore Joe Menezes teamed up to defeat their Loyola opponents, 6-2, 6-1.
The Bison continue play on Saturday, September 14, against the host team, Towson, at 9:00 a.m.
