Bison Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Patriot League Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Abbie Valentine and Scott Leeder finished in a tie for 11th place with a 222-stroke score, and Bucknell came in fifth among eight teams on the second and final day of the Patriot League Championship Sunday afternoon at the West Point Golf Club.
Host Army ran away with the league title. The Black Knights shot 847 for 54 holes and defeated their nearest competitor, Navy, by 29 strokes. Lehigh (878), Bucknell (907), American (908), Holy Cross (938) and Lafayette (974) rounded out the team scoring.
Army's Scott Manley (209, 69-69-71) won on a third playoff hole to defeat teammate Kevin Lee and Billy Hurley of Navy.
Valentine shot 71-74-77 for the Bison, while Leeder posted scores of 73-80-69. Leeder's 69 was the lowest individual score for a Bucknell player this season.
Nick Leibowitz (230, 77-76-77) and Dan Gale (234, 79-76-79) completed Bucknell's team scoring. Leibowitz tied for 22nd, while Gale tied for 28th. Charles Markey (249, 85-86-78) and Alex Dolle (82-82-89) also participated but did figure into the Bison's team scoring.
The Bison will conclude the spring season on Saturday and Sunday with the Delaware Invitational.
