BUCKNELL IN THE PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT: This year marks the fourth straight year Bucknell entered the tournament seeded second ... Before the 1998-99 season, the last time Bucknell finished the regular-season seeded higher than fourth was the 1995-96 season when the Bison claimed the regular-season title ... The Orange and Blue have now won four first round games in the 12-year history of the league ... Before this year, the last first-round game the Bison won was, ironically, against Navy (62-43) in the 1999-2000 tournament at Lafayette ... Before the win over Navy two season's ago, Bucknell had not won a first-round game in the tournament since it defeated Colgate, 53-52, in 1994-95 on Mar. 3 ... This season's win over Army in the second round is only Bucknell's second round win in school history ... The first second round win came just two years ago.
FEDORJAKA AND THE TOURNAMENT: Two years ago, when Bucknell won two tournament games to get to the championship tilt against Holy Cross, was the first time head coach Kathy Fedorjaka experienced a win in the Patriot League Tournament. Now at 4-3 in her five seasons, she has suffered losses to Lehigh (59-55, 1997-98), Army (72-67, 1998-99) and Colgate (85-69, 2000-01), and defeated Navy twice, and Colgate and Army once.
BUCKNELL VS. LEAGUE: Following is a record of Bucknell vs. every Patriot League school in the tournament. The Bison are 6-9 in tournament action:
American - 0-0 (first season) Army - 2-1 Colgate - 2-2 Holy Cross - 0-2 Lafayette - 0-2 Lehigh - 0-1 Navy - 2-0
BISON FINISH SECOND ... AGAIN: With an 11-3 conference record, the most Patriot League wins in school history, the Bison secured second place in the regular season standings for the fourth consecutive year.
CREAMER, QUIMBY NAMED ALL-STARS: For the second year in a row, junior Molly Creamer has been named the Patriot League Player of the Year. The guard becomes the fifth repeat player in the history of the league, and only the second to repeat as a sophomore/junior. She also earned a spot on the all-league first-team for the second straight year.
Senior Vicki Quimby landed herself on the second-team, making her the first player in Patriot League history to earn a spot on either the first or second team all four years. She was a member of the second team as a rookie, and on the first team the past two years.
