Disqualifications Drop Bucknell Men's Golf Out of Contention at American

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Three of Bucknell's five golfers were disqualified, and the Bison did not have four finishers required to receive a team score this afternoon at the second and final day of the American University invitational.
Nine golfers, including Bucknell's Abbie Valentine, Dan Gale and Scott Leeder - the Bison's top three finishers after day one of the invitational - were discarded from competition after hitting off the wrong tee on the first par-three.
Sophomore Charles Markey turned in the highest finish for the remaining Bison. Markey tied for 35th with a two-day total of 167. Freshman Alex Dolle finished in a tie for 56th with a 173-stroke mark.
Brian Hollowell was low medallist with a three-over par 147, leading Longwood College to the team title with a score of 609. Loyola and American tied for second at 624.
The Bison will return to action Saturday and Sunday at the Towson Invitational.
