ABOUT THE ARMY GAME: The Bison come into today's game with a 14-8 overall record and a mark of 7-2 in the Patriot League. Bucknell is coming off of an exciting come-from-behind win over Navy on Wednesday, helping the Orange and Blue to maintain a share of the lead in the conference with Holy Cross.
Army enters this afternoon's contest with a record of 8-14 overall and 3-6 in the league. Since defeating four-time Patriot League champion Holy Cross, 68-67, for the second-straight time, the Black Knights have dropped four league contests by an average of 11.5 points per game.
THE ARMY SERIES: Bucknell holds a 16-10 lead in the 18-year history of the series. The two teams first met in February of 1984 with the Cadets taking a 69-54 victory.
Army proceeded to win the first five games of the series, and seven of the first nine, but since then, Bucknell has won 14 of the last 17 contests. Since dropping a 72-67 game in the first round of the Patriot League tournament in 1999, the Bison have claimed the last five games.
Bucknell trails by a slim margin of 7-6 against Army in Christl Arena.
SCOUTING ARMY: The Black Knights are led in the scoring and rebounding column by sophomore Katie Macfarlane. Macfarlane, a four-time Player of the Week pick, is third in the Patriot League with 18.0 ppg and leads the league with 10.2 rebounds per game.
In conference play, Macfarlane (17.9 ppg) leads three players in double figures scoring. Amy Saal is chipping in 10.9 ppg and Christine Gassman 10.7 ppg against Patriot League opponents.
