Nyce Wins Subway Athlete of the Month Award in Track & Field

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior Andrea Nyce has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of December in track & field.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Feb. 4. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of February, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Monique LeBlanc in basketball and freshman Jackie Feinthel in swimming & diving.
Nyce reset her own school record in the pole vault on Jan. 19 at the Bison Octagonal. Her winning vault of 12'1" was also over one and half feet better than her nearest competitor, and helped Bucknell place first among eight schools to capture the invitational title.
Nyce also holds Bucknell's outdoor record in the pole vault at 11'11 ?".
Bucknell will send part of its team to the Armory Collegiate Invitational in New York City on Feb. 8-9, while the remainder of the squad will stay at home to compete in the Bucknell Winter Classic.
