ABOUT THE LEHIGH GAME: Today's game is the final regular-season contest for both teams. With the Bison already locked in to a second-seed at the Patriot League Tournament, the outcome has less of an impact for BU than for Lehigh.
The Mountain Hawks are fighting for the third seed. At the time these notes were printed, American and Holy Cross were squaring off in Washington, D.C. An American win over the Crusaders would mean Lehigh is in a must-win situation against the Bison. However, if the Eagles fell to Holy Cross, OR if Lehigh beats Bucknell, the Mountain Hawks maintain the three seed.
THE LEHIGH SERIES: The Bison hold a slim 24-22 advantage in the series which began in 1977. In games contested in Stabler Arena, however, Lehigh leads the series 9-13. Despite trailing in the series on the road, Bucknell has won the last three at Lehigh, and eight of the last ten in Bethlehem.
The Orange and Blue have won five of the last seven outings between the two schools. The Mountain Hawks only victories in the stretch were in Davis Gymnasium in the form of a 96-91 double overtime outcome in 2000, and a 74-67 game last year.
SCOUTING LEHIGH: The Mountain Hawks are led in the scoring column and on the glass by junior Anne Tierney. Tierney scores 15.0 ppg and pulls down 9.3 rpg.
Lehigh is scoring 64.3 ppg, while allowing its opponents an average of 68.0 ppg.
