LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior women's basketball player Molly Creamer (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) is ranked among the nation's leaders in four categories in the latest national statistics release. In addition, the Bucknell team is ranked nationally in free throw percentage and field goal percentage. The 2001-02 NCAA Women's Basketball statistics leaders were updated on Tuesday, February 19.
Creamer, who leads the team and the Patriot League in scoring and assists, is ranked fourth in the nation with her 23.0 scoring average. The junior has tallied 586 points in 26 games played this season and is the second highest scoring junior in the country. With 5.9 assists per game, Creamer stands at 34th in the country and is one of only two players in the nation to lead her conference in both points per game and assists per game.
In addition to her scoring and assists averages, Creamer is ranked nationally in free throw percentage and three-point field goal percentage. From the foul line, Creamer has been solid, making 56 of her last 59 attempts for a .862 clip, good enough for 28th in the country. Hitting on .397 percent of her attempts from three-point territory, the 5-10 guard is 36th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage.
As a team, the Bucknell women's basketball team leads the Patriot League, and is ranked 22nd in the country, with a .749 free throw percentage. In addition, thanks largely to a school record shooting percentage of .661 against Colgate (2/16/02), the Bison are 32nd in the nation with a .453 team field goal percentage.
Bucknell's .661 field goal percentage in the Colgate contest is also the ninth-best team performance from the field in the country this season.
The Bison own a record of 17-9 overall and 10-3 in the Patriot League. Bucknell travels to Lehigh for the final regular-season game of the year on Sunday, February 24. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
