Bison Women's Water Polo Wins First Game of Season

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Kelly Hofstetter (Scotts Valley, Calif./Harbor) scored four goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Bucknell women's water polo team picked up its first victory of the season with a 9-8 win over Slippery Rock at the Princeton Invitational.
Hofstetter's four goals led five goal scorers for the Bison, followed by a two-goal performance by freshman Meg Blitzer (Durham, N.H./Phillips Academy). Senior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos), and freshmen Cody Keffer (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley) and Eileen Ketterer (Altamonte Spring, Fla./Lyman) each tallied once in the game, while Rea added a team-high two assists, and Ketterer and senior Adrienne Schober (Houston, Texas/Clearlake) both had one.
Rea also recorded four steals and six ejections drawn in a solid defensive effort.
Bucknell improves to 1-1 overall and will face 15th ranked Michigan at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 17.
