Bison Women's Basketball Player and Team Among National Statistics Leaders

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior women's basketball player Molly Creamer (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) is ranked among the nation's leaders in three categories in the latest national statistics release. In addition, the Bucknell team is ranked nationally in free throw percentage. The 2001-02 NCAA Women's Basketball statistics leaders were updated on Tuesday, February 12.
Creamer, who leads the team and the Patriot League in scoring and assists, is ranked fourth in the nation with her 22.8 scoring average. The junior has tallied 546 points in 24 games played this season and is the second highest scoring junior in the country.
In addition to her scoring average, Creamer is ranked nationally in assists per game and free throw percentage. With 5.6 helpers each night out, Creamer stands at 39th in the country and is one of only two players in the nation to lead her conference in both points per game and assists per game. From the foul line, Creamer has been solid, making 54 of her last 57 attempts for a .860 clip, good enough for 34th in the country.
As a team, the Bucknell women's basketball team leads the Patriot League, and is ranked 15th in the country, with a .757 free throw percentage.
The Bison own a record of 16-8 overall and 9-2 in the Patriot League. Bucknell hosts Colgate in the final home Patriot League game of the season on Saturday, February 16, at 1:00 p.m.
