Bucknell Women's Basketball Travels to Lafayette To Open Second Half of League Play

ABOUT THE LAFAYETTE GAME: The Bison enter this afternoon's contest with a 12-8 overall record and a 5-2 Patriot League mark after the first round of conference play. The Orange and Blue are tied atop the league standings with four-time defending champion ,Holy Cross, and Lehigh.
Lafayette comes into today's outing with a 3-17 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the league. The Leopards just recently broke out of a season-high nine-game losing skid with a 72-68 victory over conference rival Colgate, but came out the next game to fall to Lehigh, 68-35.
THE LAFAYETTE SERIES: Lafayette owns a 29-19 advantage in the 25-year history of the series, the longest of any in Bucknell women's basketball history. Of the 125 different schools that Bucknell has faced throughout the women's basketball program's history, Lafayette has been the opponent the most times (48).
The Orange and Blue, however, have dominated for the past six years, winning 12 of the last 16 outings, including a 78-65 decision on January 9, 2002, to open Patriot League play.
SCOUTING LAFAYETTE: The Leopards carry a 3-17 overall record into today's contest. Lafayette came out of a nine-game losing streak to pick up its first Patriot League win of the season with a 72-68 decision over Colgate on January 26. The Leopards' other two wins this season have come over Rider (75-72) and Dartmouth (64-62).
Sophomore Colleen Fitzpatrick leads the Leopards in scoring with 14.5 points per game, 15.8 ppg in league play. Junior Jennifer Bayer is the team-leader on the glass, pulling down 6.2 caroms each night out.
