Lindsey Geosits Named Female Athlete of the Month for Basketball

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman Lindsey Geosits (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) has received the November Athlete of the Month Award for basketball from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, Dec. 5. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of November, as selected by their respective coaches, were Meghan Freese for swimming and senior Theresa Dennis for cross country.
Geosits is a first year participant with the Bison. She has started in all six contests for the Bison and has played a total of 193 minutes. The freshman has scored 25 points and has committed only 11 turnovers as point guard. She leads the team in field goal shooting with a .500 average and is perfect from the foul line. The 5-7 guard stands in second on the squad with 50.0% accuracy from behind the arc.
The Bucknell women's basketball team starts the 2002-03 season with a 3-3 overall record. The Bison will visit University of Delaware on Sunday, Dec. 8 with a start time of 1 p.m.
Thursday's luncheon also included a celebration for the 30th anniversary of Title IX. The next Women's Sport Luncheon will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6 at noon.
