
Bucknell Men's Swimming and Diving Fall to Army, 164-79

LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Saturday, Bucknell hosted Patriot League opponent Army. The women were victorious over the Black Knights, 141-100, and the men fell to Army by a score of 164-79.
In the women's events, Bucknell captured first place finishes in a number of events. In the women's 400-medley relay, Lectie Altman, Jamie Flick, Mary Krakowski and Lynne Ashenfelter placed first with a time of 4:01.28, which places them tenth on the All-Time list. Daniela Faas captured the gold in the 1000-yard free with a time of 10:35.80. Altman scored first-place points with a time of 1:56.27 in the 200 yard free.
A number of Bison broke pool records during the meet against Army. Meghan Freese broke the pool record in the 50 yard free (24.26), while Darby Golino broke the record in the 200 IM (2:11.71) and in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.57).
Jackie Feinthel placed first in the 200 fly. Freese clocked 53.70 in the 100 free for a first-place finish. Faas made a first-place showing in the 500 free, for the Bison, with a time of 5:10.37 and Flick timed 2.27.16 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
On the men's side of competition, Adam Freeman placed first in the one- and second in the three-meter diving events. Freeman recorded 270.07 points in the one-meter diving. He tallied 250.11 points in the three-meter diving competition, which is his highest score in the three-meter for the season. In the 200-yard breaststroke, William Schilling placed second with a time of 2:10.42, which placed him eighth on the All-Time list for Bucknell.
Mark Kretzer, Stelios Saffos, Michael Harrigan and Peter Garvin grabbed a second-place finish for Bucknell in the 400-yard medley relay (3:33.06). Kurt McCoy (10:03.43) and Gonzalo Diaz (10:11.07) placed second and third respectively in the 1000 free. Kretzer (2nd, 2:00.49), Matt Hallowell (3rd, 2:01.18), and Jack Sheehan (4th, 2:02.57) received points for Bucknell in the 200 IM.
Bucknell's women swimming and diving team has improved its record to 4-0 for the 2002-03 season, while the men dropped to 1-2. The Bison will host the Bucknell Trials and Finals meet on the weekend of Dec. 7 and 8 in Arthur D. Kinney Natatorium, with a start time of 10:30 a.m.
