WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Brian Hall threw four touchdown passes to lead Holy Cross to a 38-21 win over Bucknell on Saturday.
Hall had three scoring passes in the first half, as Holy Cross (4-5, 2-2 Patriot) welcomed back coach Dan Allen by taking a 24-0 lead in the first quarter.
Allen returned after a three-game medical absence. The reason was not made public.
Bucknell (2-6, 0-4) had three turnovers and was unable to recover from Holy Cross's early scoring spree.
Defensive tackle Patrick Sullivan recovered a fumble on Bucknell's first possession, leading to a 1-yard scoring pass from Hall to Nick Larsen.
After an interception by David Fitzpatrick led to Chris Vella's 35-yard field goal, Hall threw a 32-yard scoring pass to David Kasouf and Dave Seger returned a blocked a punt for a touchdown.
Hall's third touchdown pass, an 18-yard completion to Gideon Akande with 3:04 left in the first half, gave Holy Cross a 31-0 lead.
Bucknell scored all of its points in the second half, as Todd Wenrich threw a 4-yard touchdown pass and ran 2 yards for a score. Raphael Darrington added a 4-yard scoring run.
