
Bucknell's Swimming and Diving Sweep At Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Both the Bucknell University men's and women's swimming & diving squads competed at Drexel. The women's team captured a 185-102 victory, while the men's team tallied a 168-132 win over the Dragons.
In the women's events, the Bison were victorious in numerous events. In the 200 yard medley the Orange and Blue marked 1:50.76 and the 400 freestyle relay team recorded 3:50.28. Daniela Faas captured first place with 10:38.37 in the 1,000 yard free. Lectie Altman grabbed 1:56.95 in the 200 free and Darby Golino placed first with 59.87 in the 100 yard backstroke.
Jamie Flick captured a time of 1:08.72 during the 100 breast, and Mary Krakowski marked 2:13.84 in the 200 butterfly event. In the freestyle events, Erica Wild tallied 25.60 in the 50-yard and Meghan Freese recorded 54.55 in the 100-yard.
Bison's Golino broke Drexel's pool record when she recorded 2:07.56 in the 200 backstroke. Flick timed in at 2:29.26 during the 200 breaststroke and Altman marked 5:15.95 in the 500 free. Krakowski finished the 100 butterfly in 59.45 for the Bison.
On the men's side of the competition, the 400 freestyle relay team captured third with a time of 3:21.55 and the 200 medley relay team marked first with 1:38.14. Kurt McCoy timed 10:17.06 for a first place finish in the 1,000 free. Todd Bauer tallied 1:48.26 for a second place finish in the 200 free. In the 100 backstroke, Bison members, Mark Kretzer (55.10), Jack Sheehan (55.91) and Christopher Feinthel (57.26) marked second, third and fourth respectively.
Capturing first in the 100 yard breaststroke, for the Bison, was Stelios Saffos (1:01.01). Michael Harrigan recorded 1:59.74(1st) in the 200 butterfly and Michael Guskey grabbed first in the 50 free with 21.98. William Schilling timed in with 2:15.19 in he 200 breaststroke event for first place. Bauer finished the 500 free in 4:53.85 a top the other swimmers. In the 100 butterfly, Harrigan marked 54.89 for top notch. Matt Hallowell concluded the single athlete events with a first place finish in the 200 yard IM(2:01.29).
The men's and women's teams will host the Bucknell Sprint Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 9. The Bison will start Patriot League competition against American and Navy on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Arthur J. Kinney Natatorium.
