
Bucknell Swimming and Diving Host First Patriot League Meet

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell held the first Patriot League meet, against Navy and American on Saturday. The women were victorious over both American, 176-124, and Navy 163-137. The Bison men fell to American by a score of 166-133.
In the women's events, Bucknell captured first place finishes in a number of events. In the women's 200 medley relay, Darby Golino, Jamie Flick, Mary Krakowski and Meghan Freese placed first with a time of 1:48.10, which places them third on the All-Time list. Lectie Altman captured first in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.87 and now stands third on the All-Time list in that event.
Also placing first for the Bison were Golino, who swam 59.28 in the 100 backstroke, and Flick, who grabbed 1:07.01 in the 100 breaststroke. Freese accomplished 24.31 in the 50 free. Tailing each other, Altman and Golino recorded first and second in the 200 backstroke. Flick made one more first place showing in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.31. Golino captured a time of 2:12.01 to receive the gold in the 200 IM.
In the men's competition, Adam Freeman placed first in both the one- and three-meter diving events. Freeman now stands fifth on the All-Time list with his 271.65 score in the one-meter diving. He accomplished 238.95 in the three-meter diving competition.
Mark Kretzer, Michael Guskey, Michael Harrigan, and Peter Garvin placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.41. Stelios Saffos received the silver in the 100 breaststroke (59.75), edging in the 10th spot on the All-Time charts. William Schilling recorded 2:11.18 in the 200 breaststroke to capture second place, behind American. He also placed on the All-Time Top 10 list, bumping Jay O'Neil off the list by one-tenth of a second. Todd Bauer captured second in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.63.
The Bison will continue Patriot League competition against Army on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Arthur J. Kinney Natatorium at 2:00 p.m.
